ENERGY & BODYWORK THERAPY – Lymphatic Drainage Massage

Lymphatic Drainage Massage is a light massage stimulating the lymphatic system to release toxins and distribute the healing properties of therapeutic grade essential oils to assist the body to optimum health.
The lymphatic system is a complex system of lymph vessels and nodes, and critical to our body’s ability to detoxify, drain stagnant fluids, regenerate tissues and maintain a healthy immune system.
Unlike the circulatory system, the lymphatic system does not have a pump to circulate the lymph fluid and the lymph vessels rely upon hundreds of tiny muscular units contracting throughout the body to propel lymph flow. These contractions are what enable the lymph vessels to transport the many substances, such as proteins, hormones, fatty acids, immune cells and toxins, to lymph nodes which can then process them. The flow of lymph can be affected or stopped by surgery, trauma, burns, infections, substantial swelling, fatigue, stress or age. When the lymph circulation stagnates, the fluids accumulate and cellular functioning is compromised.
The therapeutic properties of the oils assist the body to improve circulation, clear congestion, relieve respiratory and digestive concerns, headaches and muscle tension, stress and fatigue, balance the body’s systems and achieve greater relaxation to support the body in the rest and repair state. A unique blend is crafted to address your specific needs.
Each person responds differently to a treatment and the best results are achieved through a series of treatments. The number would vary with each individual, the specific issue they are presenting and whether it is chronic or acute. Recommendations for the treatment plan are determined at the assessment stage.
